Yarn Care

How to wash, dry and store your Veraline yarns so finished pieces stay soft for years.

Chenille & velvet yarns

Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, inside a mesh laundry bag. Lay flat to dry — heat is what breaks velvety fibers down. Do not iron; steam lightly from a distance if a piece needs reshaping.

Cotton & acrylic blends

Fully machine washable at 30°C / 86°F. Tumble dry low or lay flat. These blends hold their shape well and soften slightly with each wash.

Faux fur & fuzzy yarns

Hand wash in cool water with a mild detergent. Squeeze gently — never wring. Lay flat to dry, then shake the piece to restore the pile.

Puffie & blanket yarns

Machine wash cold, gentle cycle. Skip the fabric softener; it coats the fibers and dulls the loft. Lay flat to dry.

General tips

  • Always test-wash your gauge swatch first — it's the safest way to know how a finished piece will behave.
  • Our yarns are steam-set for color fastness, but wash deep shades separately the first time.
  • Store yarn away from direct sunlight, in a breathable bag or basket — not sealed plastic.
  • Keep a label from each project: it carries the shade number for perfect reorders.
